In addition, we offer an expanded technology platform which includes self-service for employees and managers, mobile access, carrier connections, and data integration capabilities.

We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician. This individual will work onsite in our Corporate Office located in Shreveport, LA. The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for IT support requests for internal and remote employees, maintains internal documentation, setup, and installation of equipment and software. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Respond to and Resolve IT support requests for internal and remote employees.
  • Monitor tasks through our IT Help Desk ticketing software.
  • Perform tasks as directed by existing Desktop Support Technician, Systems Administrator, or IT Manager.
  • Complete and maintain internal documentation and solutions.
  • Assist with IT and office equipment relocation (requires physical lifting).
  • Escalate complex and/or high priority problems to the Systems Administrator or IT Manager.
  • Setup equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper and clean installation of cables, monitors. (and mounts), workstations, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Install, configure and support computers (Windows 10, Mac OSx, etc.), software, hardware drivers, network printing and scanning, etc.
  • Inventory and maintain data in IT asset management software.
  • Develop training materials and procedures, and provide technical guidance to employees.
  • Other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The list below is representative of the qualifications, skills, and abilities required and preferred:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+ or similar certification.
  • 1+ years of desktop support experience.
  • Well-versed with Windows 10 PCs, printers, scanners, and similar devices in a network environment.
  • Ability to translate technical terms into a non-technical language.
  • Must be able to provide outstanding customer service to internal customers (APS employees).
  • Experience with software and systems preferred.
  • Strong client centric focus.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to work with people and work as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work in an environment in which constant deadlines exist.
  • Must be able to work the hours necessary to successfully perform in this position.
  • Must understand all company guidelines, procedures, and workflow.
